The Wilma Theater presents The Bearded Ladies in Marlene and the Machine: A German Expressionist Cabaret. Combining the music of Marlene Dietrich and Lotte Lenya, the production features the visual language of German Expressionism. Audiences will undergo a shadowy, atonal experience in which The Bearded Ladies unify elements of human, music, and machine with elaborate cardboard cityscapes, live recreations of expressionist films as well as a host of familiar songs all sung slightly off-key.
