Beyond Swastika and Jim Crow: Jewish Refugee Scholars at Black Colleges
Tuesday, Jan 15 7:00p
National Musuem American Jewish History
Philadelphia,
PA
In the 1930s, many of Austria and Germany's Jewish academics left for the US after being removed from their teaching positions, many of them finding work in the Jim Crow-laden world of the deep South. This special exhibit brings together fascinating objects and documents to illustrate the interaction between two groups with long histories of oppression.
